Swim hats compulsory for training

Bottisham SC swimmers must wear hats to training.  From this Sunday we will be operating a ‘no hat, no swim’ policy.  All swimmers should by now have received their new club swim hat – if you don’t yet have one, please see Suzy.

Both the old and new Bottisham SC hats are fine for training, but the hats of other swimming clubs and Tri clubs are not acceptable. New swimmers who have not yet joined the club should please wear a plain swim hat until they become members, when they will receive their Bottisham hat.

Only the new Bottisham hats may be worn for competition.

There are three main reasons for asking swimmers to wear a hat:

  • It keeps the pool water clean, resulting in a better training environment;
  • It puts swimmers into a ‘swim club’ mentality, resulting in better concentration and performance; and
  • It fosters a team atmosphere during training.

Any queries on this policy, please speak to Dave Silk.
