Please vote for BSC to win £10k – urgent!

The deadline for voting for Bottisham Swimming Club to win £10,000 from One Family is approaching on Wednesday.  Please vote today or tomorrow if you can – it’s a long shot, but if you and your friends and family can all get involved, it could make a big difference to the club and our fundraising effort to buy new equipment including blocks for IVC, lane ropes and a race start system.

To vote, you need to register with One Family, find us, then click a button. That’s all. The important link is this one – https://foundation.onefamily.com/projects/bottisham-swimming-club-on-your-blocks/  – please share it!

The closing date is Wednesday 6 September and any UK resident over 18 can vote. Thank you!

Tokens, the final chance – and another project, please vote!

As a final reminder, please collect up all of your Cambridge News Tokens and bring them to training on Wednesday. If you can’t get to training on Wednesday, please take them directly to any branch of the Cambridge Building Society in an envelope marked “Bottisham Swimming Club” with the number of tokens written on the outside. They need to be handed in by noon on Thursday 24 August or they won’t count.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this initiative. We’ll let you know how we get on at the presentation on Wednesday 6 September.

And now to the next project – A Squad swimmer Nick’s parents have kindly nominated the club to be shortlisted for a grant from the One Family Building Society. We have asked for a grant of £10,000, which would enable us to buy new blocks for Impington which could also be used by the community, a Start System for our Club Champs, and other training equipment, hardware and software that will benefit the club for years to come. In order to get this, we need to be successful in a public vote. That’s where we need your help again!

To vote, you need to register with One Family, find us, then click a button. That’s all. The important link is this one – https://foundation.onefamily.com/projects/bottisham-swimming-club-on-your-blocks/ please share it with friends, family, workmates, and anyone in your local community who might be able to give us a hand.

The closing date is Wednesday 6 September and any UK resident over 18 can vote. Thank you!

Tokens – get them in NOW!

The final token in the Cambridge News will be published on Saturday 19 August.  The deadline for us getting the tokens in to the Cambridge Building Society or Cambridge News is 12 noon on Thursday 24 August. Therefore please could everyone bring all the tokens you have managed to collect to training on next Sunday, Monday or Wednesday and hand them over to Karl – ideally in an envelope with the number you’ve collected written on the outside so our job of counting them is not too hard! We will then take them all together to hand them in.

If you forget to bring them to training, you can take them into any branch of the Cambridge Building Society in an enveloped marked for us, as long as it’s before 12 noon on the Thursday.

The amount we receive will be revealed at a ‘do’ on the evening of Wednesday 6 September. We’ll let you know as soon as we find out! Thanks for your support – we’ve no idea how we’ll get on but it’s great to be involved!
