Congratulations to all the swimmers who made it to this Saturday’s sessions at Parkside! The team was Anouk, Faith, Lauren, George, Luna, Nick, Kieran, Phoebe E, Ellen H, Leila, Ellen C, Ella G, Mary O, and Jack H.  Bottisham had another good day in the pool with 19 PBs, 7 finals, 4 Club Records including 2 all-time fastests, 3 county debuts and 1 regional time.

The girls’ races were the 100m breaststroke, 200m IM, 50m fly, 200m breaststroke and 50m backstroke.

Anouk and Faith swam all of the races, with Anouk getting 4 PBs and a new club record for age 11 50 fly. She swam in all three of the girls’ finals and over all the races she finished 7th, 6th, 5th, 7th and 5th respectively, a brilliant performance. Faith just lost out in the 100m breaststroke with 4th place but smashed the regional qualifying time and all-time club record; she came 9th, 5th (final), 6th and 11th in the other races, with 3 PBs overall and another all-time club record in the 50 fly too.

The boys’ races were the 100m fly, the 200m IM, the 100m freestyle and the 200m backstroke. Our other finalist of the day was Nick who managed 8th in the 100m freestyle final; he got PBs in all three of his races, coming 10th in the 200IM and 5th in the 200m backstroke with a new age 13 club record.

Congratulations also to new club record holder Ellen C who took the age 16 50 fly record with a great swim.

Huge well-dones to Ellen H, Phoebe E and Mary O who all swam their first county-level races yesterday: all got PBs in their races, and Phoebe even made the final of the 50m backstroke and came 7th in her age group (10-11)!

So the full list of PBs is as follows:

Anouk – 4; Faith and Nick – 3; Ella G 1, and 1 equalled!, and one each for Luna, Phoebe, Ellen H, Ellen C, Mary, Leila, and Kieran.

Well done everyone. Onwards to the next session on the 24 February, which is the 50 free and 100IM for both boys and girls, and then the relays.
